The VDE FNN study investigates how short-term exceedances of the maximum permissible operating voltage affect operating equipment. The study shows under which conditions reliable network operation with temporarily higher voltages than the maximum permissible voltage for equipment (Um) is possible in the distribution and transmission network. The question is how short-term voltages higher than Um can affect the function and aging of operating equipment.
